Kanji 35 - 36

Last of the family words today, I'm sure they're loads more, but I doubt we need to know them for the A2 class...

おっと Husband

つま Wife

I'm unsure as to whether there are specific wotds for 'my wife', 'my husband'... Anyone know?

I know!
主人(しゅじん)for my husband
家内(かない)for my wife

主人 is O.K.,but 家内 is a bit oldfashioned, and what people use nowadays are as follows:

my husband
(うちの)主人
(うちの)夫
(うちの)旦那"だんな"-informal

my wife
(うちの)妻
(うちの)嫁"よめ"(さん)-informal

To sum up,using 夫,主人 & 妻 in
conversation with others
in formal situations is the best way.

I say "うちの嫁さん" for my wife
when it's not a formal situation.

Just 覚えろ!!

けんじ先生
